Authors guidelines

Before you submit your paper

If you want to publish the results of your research in Geonauka, please assure that your paper topic corresponds to the scientific fields covered by Geonauka. We will publish all original research within the scope of the journal. Also, review papers are allowed. The final decision regarding publishing of your work is made by two reviewers after reviewing your manuscript.

Submission contents

Your submission can contain four key elements, while only a cover letter and the manuscript itself are mandatory.

Cover letter

In your cover letter you will suggest at least three reviewers whose fields of expertize comply with the topic of your paper. You will provide their full names, affiliations, and e-mail addresses. However, the editor-in-chief may decide to choose other reviewers.


For writing your paper, use the provided template. Read the instructions carefully and try to be in line with all requests. Technical correctness of the paper is a prerequisite to the review process.


If you have graphics in your paper, make sure that all figures, pictures, or photographs are saved separately as bitmap files of the following formats (TIFF, BMP, JPEG, PNG, or EPS). Do not embed graphics in the manuscript, but instead link them to the separate bitmap files. Since Geonauka is printed in black/white, choose such colour tables for your graphics that can be clearly printed. Online edition will contain the graphics in full colour.

Multimedia contents

Online edition of your paper can contain different multimedia contents, such as, animations, video or sound material. There is no restrictions regarding file formats, but try to be as compatible as you can with industrial standards (for example, MPEG for video or MP3 for sound material).

How to send your paper

You should archive your submission (cover letter, manuscript, figures and multimedia content, if available) into one file. Use standard archivers (zip, rar, tar.gz). After that, send the archive to the journal's e-mail address:

Reviewing process

After receiving your submission. the editor will send you a confirmation letter in few working days, with the name of the editor-in-chief, who will check your manuscript on accordance with the template. If the technical requirements are met, the editor selects the reviewers, and send your paper to them. When the review process is finished, you will receive a mail from the editor with the decision, with attached review forms from both reviewers. In a case of remarks and suggestions from the reviewers, you are asked to answer to them, including possible changes in the manuscript. When both reviewers accept your paper, the editor-in-chief informs you about the following steps in the publishing process.
